The Meditrich are the 100mg metronidazole pills. I would continue with the sulfa in the water, but only if you think they are drinking enough. Are they drinking enough?

I don't know, haven't seen them drinking since i brought them inside, but i think they should be drinking, is it okay to continue with sulfa and give them metronidazole also?

I would start metronidazole now. Can you take a poop sample to the vet and have him check it for bacteria, coccidia, worm eggs and yeast?

I don't think its possible, they don't do check for birds poop, i will start giving them metronidazole tonight, Thank you for answering my questions, i know you are so busy.

Do they do checks of dog poo? It is the same process, and they will see the (mostly) the same sorts of things under the microscope... My understanding is that any vet with the capability of processing dog poo can do bird poo.

@casportpony , what other kinds of poo processing would cross over? They most likely have large animal vets there... Othman, what kinds of animals do the vets there treat? Dogs, cats, horses, camels, other livestock? Any avian (bird) vets for, say, parrots or racing pigeons?

Any vet that went to vet school and has a microscope can do fecals. Doesn't matter what animals they treat, poop is poop, lol.

Just checked albendazole drug interactions and none are listed for any of the drugs mentioned in this thread.

Well I dunno if there are cultural issues involved. But also am wondering how often large animal vets run fecals... I just always shoved wormer in there and never troubled the vet with it

I'm thinking Othman may have to persuade a vet to do it if he's ever going to get a vet to run fecals, so looking for arguments he can use on the vet, like, it's the same as ___________ (fill in dog/cat/horse/camel/parrot/racing pigeon) poo.

Othman, I'm sorry your efforts to provide great quality medical care to your peas is running into difficulty in this area. But you are doing a great job caring for them

I will try to visit the vet on Sunday and see if he can check their poops, they close on Friday and Sat, and its already 11 pm here.
