Learn from my mistake, broody issues!

I've been keeping the cat in when the chicks are out of the broody pen. So I let the chicks out and came back in. That was my mistake. The cat had turned a bowl over onto the kitchen floor. Full of stuff, of course. Now the chicks are out and it's the cat that needs to go out. His problem is he's still a kitten, about 9 months.

Usually I say, sigh, chickens. Today? Sigh, animals.

Good news is my latest broody quit, maybe. She was out of the nest but there was another poop in there.

So funny! Thanks for the laugh!

Sounds like me trying to clean out one little pen in the coop for a grow out pen for some chicks. I locked everyone out so I could quickly rake the shavings. Well they all had to see what I was doing so they decided to jump over the top, 7 ft high and so I had chicken bombers flying in over my head and while I was trying to shoo them out of there and protect my head another hen sat down in the newly raked shavings and laid an egg right there.

On normal days they don't even care at all about this section of the coop. But as soon as I try to fix it up, it becomes the popular spot.

Nah, if they keep turning out chicks as cute as Doe's chicks are I think I'll hang on to them.
