Learn from my mistake....

One radical and extravagant idea might be to buy a feed scoop at the store. ;)

A lot of us though, prefer to recycle/repurpose versus going out and buying something new. The feed scoops I make from 1/2 gallon milk cartons work as well as the commercial scoops I would buy at the feed store, but saved me the trouble and expense of going out to buy one AND gave something that would otherwise have gone in the trash, a new purpose. When DH and I need something, we always look for a way to repurpose something we already have around here into the new purpose, before we consider going to the store to buy something.

I didnt have any jugs to recycle which I used to do in the past, they are now used for hauling water to fruit trees and filling buckets for the dogs when out. So I went to the dollar store and found a plastic pitcher that works great. I prefer not to support dollar stores but when a scoop is $5 and a pitcher is more practicle and $1 what does one do.

You too huh? I found the 1-gallon jugs didn't make good scoops because they are too flimsy so I use them for the same purpose as you - carrying water around. 1-gallon isn't too heavy to handle and the lid keeps it from spilling all over me while I carry it to where I need it.

Oh, I'm with you. We throw away very little around here. I just thought I was being funny. :(
