Today is day 14 so tonight I candled. We have 40 in a still air LG-- our first incubating attempt.
I wondered why each of the orpington eggs looked clear. So I broke open today's production (3) and looked VERY closely. I don't think that darn rooster is doing his job! Not only is he nasty-- he's lazy! He was fertile last year so I assumed.
He will be finding a pot tomorrow and that isn't a threat-- it's a promise!
I'm suspecting about a 25% hatch rate our first time out, but we have learned a lot
