I have to completely agree! I believe it would make people have a different respect for animals in general! The eggs they laid yesterday were bright yellow/orange :) and so yummy! Im sure it won't be long and you won't know what to do with all the eggs! Lol

Oooh they sound soo yummy! Iv got quite a bit to wait but im hoping it will go quickly! Im so excited for the different egg colours! They come into lay around 21-36 weeks and iv got two 15weeks old and three chicks 5-6 weeks old! Hopefully ill only have to wait a couole months for the first two to lay!! Pekin bantams lay small white eggs but the are really tasty, the smaller the egg the richer the yolk! The brown and green eggs will be standard size.
We Have a good sized shed that were hoping to convert in next few months and maybe get some quail! They lay tiny tasty eggs, you need three on your bacon sarnie but there yummy!

Do you have any plans to expand you flock in time? :yiipchick

They are sound yummy to me :) no not plan to expand at the moment, but I'm very happy with my girls! But I'm planning on explanding there coop :) and yay one finally laid in the box and not on the coop floor XD

Aww, they will probably all get the hang of using the nest box now!

That sound good, they love roaming around dont they! We made a fence out of wooden pallets and chicken wire and it didnt turn out to bad.

You will have to post pictures of your extended run when you do it!

yeh I think It was the straw that the pervious owner gave us, it was very long and flat, I changed there bed and it was a new pack of hay but its the compressed kind and its a hit :) must be more comfortable for them!

yeh I love watching them in the garden, they have now found a favourite place to have nap, this was the first lady to find it lol now they all huddle up and nap together there, its so cute

What names did you come up with?

They are really lovely looking chickens!! Soo pretty! You should start a thread asking people to post chicken names!! I bet there is some pretty unique ones out there, plus it may help you decide? If i couldnt think of a name i asked my daughter and her response was "chicken" lol pretty origional eh? Haha! :yiipchick

they are very spoilt ladies, I have seen a difference to the way there feathers and bodies look after just a week, looking a lot tubbier lol kind of sad to think they were in there coop all day long before they came too us! but it doesn't matter now, they have a better life and forever home now!

yeh good idea for a thread, I know if I asked my boys it would be minion dave or rayman rabbits or something along them lines, we are thinking of using the first letter of the colour they have to at the start of they name so ( Pink - P for Polly)
