I've gotten one reply on my story. One. The other two people who posted were prompted. But, ya know what? I still post it. Because, even though no one posts on it, every time I put some more on, my views go up by about 10-20. And I've noticed yours do to! Just because no one posts doesn't mean they don't read it. Like me, I read a lot of stories, but I hardly ever post on them. Don't count how many people reply, think of the people who don't comment who read it and enjoy it.

Writers block?

That, and no one seems to read it

Yes, keep going. I have a story of my own (mitty) and I get 'writer's depression' also. I feel like my story is just among the dozens that were on BYC, I still post my story, and I notice that a lot of people who read stories don't post. So I bet that there are quite a few people that read your story that don't post. Like me.

You should keep writing, I like your story.

Chapter 17
Returning to Disaster

It was the last day of our season away, and Talon and I were leaving at sun-down to go to meet FeatherHerd at the HerdGather. As we left I looked back once more, then turned around and never looked back again. We arrived at the HerdGather, but Feather herd wasn't there! I felt my heart stop beating. Then I turned to Talon. "We have to go." I said. That was all it took. We raced across the plains of WindHerd terriotory and didn't stop until we came to FeatherHerd territory.

The woods were oddly still and quiet. Not a bird was singing. I went straight to our camp. No one was there except for a small, still, shape. I stepped towards it, and then stepped away in shock and in tears. It was my baby sister! I walked back to Talon, and went deeper into the woods.

We found FeatherHerd in a bleak little cave, barely big enough for all of them. The herd looked sick, bedraggled, and thin. I saw my mother towards the back of the cave. "What happened?" I asked softly. "My mother looked so old and sick, I was scared to even breath on her, for fear she would blow away. She just shook her head and looked back down at the ground.

Rani told me what had happened. "There was a puma attack.." She said, shaking in fear. "It killed your sister and your father, along with half of the herd." She was scared. "A whole bunch of puma." Her eyes were wide with fear. It was then that I realized I was the only one who could save them. "Ok. Go get the herd to come out and graze. It looks like you have been starving." She just nodded and started moving them out. I turned to Talon. "Keep a look out for puma." I said to him. He nodded and started patrolling around the little group of horses, taking care not to meet their eyes.

I turned around and went back to camp, so I could see my sister one last time. "I love you." I said. "When.....When you get to Heaven, say hello to Gypsi for me, please. I love you, Bluebell. I hope you rest in peace."
