Leave Oyster Shells Out?

Do oyster shells attract predators? I’d like to just leave them outside 24-7. Thanks for any insight!

I can't think of any predators that would be attracted to oyster shells so you should be fine to leave them out.

I also leave my oyster shell out all the time. No problems here, either.

Just make sure they are situated so they stay dry.
Rain and moisture leaches the calcium out.

Would wild turkey or other birds go for the shells? If so, there could be a parasitic threat.

They are in a covered spot, but thanks for the tip. I’ll check now and again to be sure they are staying dry.

When our flock was smaller, wild birds would come in. But, they steer clear now that there’s more activity. If we thin down the flock, I’ll remember the parasitic threat. Thanks for the tip!
