Leave the chicks or take them out?

I have eggs hatching under a hen, and I'm really excited! But have a question. I'm fairly positive that the hen would protect them well, but what about feeding them? I want to leave them with the flock, but since the hens can't eat the starter feed and stay healthy and the chicks can't eat the layer pellets, what should I do?

Leave the Chicks, They'll be fine.

We usually put multiple piles of starter chick crumbs so that the chickens can defiantely get to atleast one pile without other chickens chasing them away. We also keep the chickens original feed the same. That way hopefully the chickens will go for the pellets and the chicks have a better chance at getting the crumbles. Don't worry if the chicks don't eat heaps and heaps of food. If momma hens doing her job right the chicks should be full up on the chick crumbles, bugs, seeds (found in the soil, dirt or grass) and other insects. I find that the chicks (when a bit older) often have alot fun running back and forth chasing flying insects
