Hahaha right! As soon as I got him out, he looked at me like “thank you!” Then laid out in the incubator like “never doing that again.”He’s like “worst. hangover. ever.”![]()
It's scary to intervene, it makes me nervous too as you never know what you might find inside an egg.I’m honestly shocked both assists went so well. I took my time and went with my gut.I panic over little nothings and over-think, but have learned over the years I’m great in a crisis or truly serious situation.
(Saved my husband’s life once!) Sweet little Padfoot did so good under the circumstances. And better yet, no leg issues! I was nervous he would have serious splay leg or even a break with how his leg was pretty much over his head and how he was contorted, but I must have gotten to him quick enough where he was bendy enough to stretch it out.
They’re all so precious! I’m very, very happy with 7/8 hatching, and still giggling about Raven… not being a Raven.

It definitely is! I opened the last egg a bit and just can’t figure what went wrong. I could see all the veins still but just no movement even after waiting a very long time. I’m hoping to keep getting better, but so happy with this hatch rate. It's scary to intervene, it makes me nervous too as you never know what you might find inside an egg.You may always be a bit nervous about it but if all goes well, the chick sure appreciates us!

Chicks have a way of jumping into your cart whether you want them in there or not. You go in for some horse feed and all of a sudden there are 20 chicks in your basket, how in the world did they get in there?! :It definitely is! I opened the last egg a bit and just can’t figure what went wrong. I could see all the veins still but just no movement even after waiting a very long time. I’m hoping to keep getting better, but so happy with this hatch rate.We just got the last eggs for our next big, final hatch of the year so gonna number everything and take pics tomorrow to set it up… once I’ve picked a theme.
I told hubby last night “oh we probably shouldn’t go to Rural King Saturday. I also realized the first step brooder is starting to get a little full… maybe no more chicks.” And he looked at me like I was sick, and goes “so we’ll go after I get off work tomorrow to get another baby brooder.”My sweet enabler.
