Leaving nesting boxes open???

I just put my chickens in their coop for the first time. they are about 6 weeks old. I built the nesting boxes into the wall of the coop. can i leave them accessible to the chicks or should i block them off till they get older.
 
I'd block them off until they are around 17 or 18 weeks. They might just see them as a comfy place to roost or rest at night and if they get in THAT habit, you will have poopy eggs.

It's easier to block them off and encourage them to sleep in the proper place (roost) now, than try to break them of sleeping in the boxes later - TRUST me...
