When do you all recommend putting the chicks outside? Mine are fully feathered except for the necks. They are almost 5 weeks old and in Indy it's about 80 during the day and 65 at night.

They should be fine outside. Do you still have them on heat? If so, then you might want to have heat on them at night that matches the daily temperature, slowly lowering it each night until they're used to the temperature drops.

I'm using a plate tilted at a 45 degree angle. Should I turn that off during the day?

They should be ok outside. I turn the heat off in the house a few days before they go out.
