LED lights?

Does it have to be yellow light used to increase daylight hours? I have a LED lantern, but I don't know if I'm wasting my time with it.

Fluorescents work ok so LEDs should work as well or better.

LED's work great, closer to natural light to the eye of a chicken, and saves money. Game birds and possibly chickens are triggered into breeding by the blue spectrum in light we can't see.
