left for 8 days

i could run it on battery but where i live power doesn’t go out more than a few times a year for more than a few hours.
I’m guessing you don’t live in...Texas ;)
I dont get it. I live in Texas. Why would this not work here?

Pretty sure Cyra is making a crack about the massive Texas power outage this winter that lasted more than a week in some places.

As per the OP, he would definitely need to run his coop on battery power if he lived in Texas. ;)

I have left my flock, about a dozen birds for 9 days before. When everything is topped off the 4 feeders, 4" pipe screwed to wall dumping into rubber feed bowls, hold 60 pounds of feed. I have multiple waterers and they hold 25 gallons total. I could go 2 weeks without topping off feed and water.

The eggs were not collected the entire 9 days (I was evacuated for a fire so neighbors were gone too) I could improve my roll out design to hold more eggs out of reach some were eaten.

I leave them alone a week at a time a couple times a year. Something could go wrong, but it has not.

I figured. Just don't understand why people think it's funny that I had to pile all 6 of my kids into my bed with my husband and I under 4 layers of blankets to try and keep warm. Or that I had to have my heart break hearing my 2 year old tell me she's cold. But sure...haha 🙄
