Left nest for the day!

Fertile eggs under broody girl. Day 4, kicked off nest by others to lay in that particular box. Result one broken egg.
mum shifts to new box leaving fertiles abandoned for the day. 7pm I check in,’clean up mess put mum back on eggs. Eggs cold. Too late? Damage done? Thanks.

While not ideal, it isn't necessarily the end on day 4. If it was day 14 it would be disastrous.

Do you have another place you can create a nest for her and her eggs where the other hens can't get to? I like to keep broodies in their own apartment.

It isn't that a broody can't stay with the flock, it is just that sometimes it is a mess as eggs keep getting volunteered to the nests.
A broody doesn't really need to be with the flock. She is in a trance most of the day and night. What she really needs is a dust bath, food, water, fresh air and peace and quiet.
