I have some left over starter feed from when I had chicks and I was wondering if it would be okay for the adults to eat? I'm not sure if its medicated or not. I know that I bought both when I had the chicks but I'm not sure which I have left cause I keep it in a plastic container. I just hate to waste it.

I always gave it to my grown hens, feed is too expensive to "throw out". Mixed it with the layer feed. How much are you talking about? Is there a neighbor you can sell it to, if it is a lot?

I'd mix it with their Layer feed. I'm sure a little bit leftover won't do them any harm. Remember they are chickens and will eat almost anything. I'm not a waster either and I mix all my left overs. Doesn't seem to bother my girls.

I've never stopped feeding starter until I was empty. Just because it says to switch at week X, doesn't mean that it literally means STOP and SWITCH

I've thrown the extra in suet cakes for wild birds. And I've given it to the hens too.
