Left over white rice

My chickens get left over rice. Not frequently, but they get it in small amounts. They love it.

I've done it. As a treat yes. But as Lazy Gardener said, it is low protein. Egg layers need protein to stay on course.

Not a popular opinion but I figure they live pretty short lives and those are full of danger and just plain bother, not to metion the whole egg every day thing which i'm sure isn't fun. I treat on the regular i shouldn't but i do. Next life i'm coming back as an obese chicken.

LOL, my girls just got some frozen cooked quinoa as a cool down treat. It's so hard to stick to the minimal treat thing... but they do get a 20% feed and no scratch.
