I have some leftover start/grower feed from when my hens were needing to eat it and now they don't need it anymore as they are on layer feed. I was wondering what I could do? Could I mix it in with their layer feed or give as a treat? Would it affect them? Any other ideas on what I could do? Thanks!

The main difference between layer feed and grower feed is the amount of calcium. Instead of feeding layer feed my chickens normally get All Flock. Then I just add a dish of crushed oyster shells so they can eat it case they need more calcium. So feel free to give them the food you have left over from when they were young. it won't hurt them at all.

Let me add that if your starter/grower is old or moldy just dispose of it.
