Leg bands on feather footed breeds?

I was going to put leg bands on my hens to try and keep track of them better. I have one hen that is a cochin cross and has feathers down her legs. Can I put a leg band over the feathers or will it irritate the feathers and or cause damage?

I kinda want to know this myself. My BCMs are really featheredy-legged and I legband my flock

Should be fine as long as it is not overly tight. Just make sure it can slide up and down. I just use multi colored zip ties as bands, because they can be varied in size to fit each chicken. If it is just the one hen though I would think feathers on the legs would work as an integrated leg band! As long as you don't plan to get feather legged breeds, she should stand out
