I was wondering how do you remove a leg band? I have searched on here and some mentioned cutting them but I just don't see how. The ones I have are thick, plastic, and quite snug. I don't see how you would be able to cut it. Does anyone have other suggestions or techniques on how to do this?

Are they the spiral type? Just stretch and unspiral.
If not, what kind are they and how did you get them on?

I use nail clippers. That makes it easier to remove plastic bands.

I didn't put them on. The birds had them already on when I bought them. As I have never banded birds before I don't have a clue as to what kind it would be. I only know that they are yellow and wide. I tried to look for a seam but couldn't find one. I suppose I could use nail clippers since ya'll said that is what you do. I guess I can try and see. I just didn't want to try something and it cause the band to break with jagged edges but not come all the way off and then I would be stuck with what else to do and the birds may get hurt while I am trying to come up with a solution. This band looks pretty thick. I may be able to find a pic of it somewhere to help explain.

Okay, I have taken a look at leg bands and it is the ones with the numbers on them so they are wide not like those small thin spiraled ones. BUT I think the reason I couldn't feel a seam is because I saw some pics that it is like the seams overlap a ways. I am going to have to go out there and have someone hold them for me to really get a good look. Thanks for all the help. Now I know what to use either way.
