Leg Bands

I need some legbands for my just hatched ducklings, not zip ties preferably, I would like some I can make myself rather then buy online because you have to by them in packs of ten and I only need four. I tried straws but their legs are to big.

Yes but the ducklings will grow, do you know anywhere where I can get a pack of ten in all different colours?

I have also seem people use those little rubber hair bands and wrap them twice or more on chicks. If you are trying to mark light colored ducklings could you use marker or food coloring or something on their heads to tell them apart?
