Leg color - what is this (incorrect) color called? Ameraucana

Hi! I'd call those legs "willow".
From the ASOP:
WILLOW: The dusky yellowish green color found on the shanks, feet, and toes of some breeds and varieties of fowl; example Golden and Silver Duckwinf Modern Games, etc.

pips&peeps :

I'm really disappointed this happened in my line. It really sets back the progress I was making on the silvers.

Yep poo poo happens to the best of us.

I'm so sorry pips&peeps, from what I read in your posts you are very knowledgeable about the breed and that you are taking the steps needed to correct the problem, though expensive and disappointing will only strengthen your reputation. BTW, I'm adding "craptastic" to my new favorite words....

2x only the best breeders would admit the problem and let everyone know. Craptastic is a good word!

Thanks for the encouragement.

If anyone out there got silvers from me this year, I can give you more eggs next spring for the cost of shipping only.

Also if anyone would like to know whose line the cock bird is from, I can tell you privately in a pm. My original line came from John B and I never had any problems with them.

This all surfaced in my second generation crosses to black when I bred the gals back to their dad.

I'm also very sorry that happened to you. And I also respect your integrity with your manner of dealing with it.

That said, I was being so serious, thinking, "Oh, that's clearly willow." Then you came out wth the "Craptastic", and I almost spit coffee all over the computer screen. Thanks for the giggle this morning!

X2 (I would still get eggs from you as you are honest and do right by your customers.)
