I'm wondering what everyone has to say about leg color? I have Buff's, SLW, Barred Rocks, and EE's. I can post pictures tomorrow....battery in camera dead at the moment.

I'm learning that EE's will have greenish legs, right?

My 3 Buff's all have yellow legs, and are supposed to be pullets. Can you tell a Buff pullet by leg color?

My BR's and SLW's are all different. Some have yellow legs, and some have darker, gray-ish legs. Will their leg color tell me roo or hen?

I'm so confused. I'm new at this, and I ordered all pullets. I realize it's not 100% accurate, but I'm afraid from what I've been reading on these threads, I have more roos!!

Thank you for any replies. I can post pictures tomorrow for clarification. My chickies are 4 weeks.

EE have green legs.
BR's should have yellow legs.A dark wash down the front of the legs is usually a sign that said chick is a pullet, along with two other things which include being darker with a more defined white spot on the back of the head. The cockerels don't have the black wash supposedly.
I have never had Buff's so i cannot really help ya on that one
and my SLW legs kind of changed color as she grew

But you can never really depend on just leg color, there are a lot of old farmer's tails out there.
The only sure fire ways is to wait until they are older. Wait for the sadle and hale feathers to start to grow in.....but post pics when you can, that will help us greatly to help you
