Leg injury, or something worse?

She seems to like the chicken chair (right). She'll willingly stay in it a few hours at a time, though bedtime and treat excitements have made her jump out of it. She seems to be able to get out of it without too much trouble, though I haven't seen her do it yet.

We've got a vet appointment tomorrow. Here's hoping for good news!
What a great chair

I'm glad that she is able to stay with her buddies. I believe having them with/near the flock helps with the healing process.

I hope the vet can give you some answers! Please keep us posted.

Well, it wasn't good news. It seems she had a very bad systemic infection. Besides being extremely underweight (she was eating even less than we'd realized), there were big problems with her air sacs, which was probably why she was breathing oddly (shaking her head and mouth breathing).

It was a tough decision, but the small chance of recovery vs. the chance of her infecting the others was too much so we put her to sleep. She was a good chicken... wish she could have longer, but I guess it was not meant to be.

Thanks for your help on the forum. This is a very good community.

Rest in Peace, Khaleesi.
