Hey Everyone.
I found my Pekin hen Peaches limping pretty badly a couple weeks ago and found a bumblefoot. I've been soaking it and cleaning it, I tried wrapping it but it turned out to be a pain so I stopped only because there's been snow on the ground and I can't do anything to stop her from sitting in her water bowl
so the bandage gets wet and floppy. ( I use the wrap used for horses legs because it sticks nice) the bumble foot has gotten smaller but I noticed she's limping worse still and putting her wings out to catch her balance. Well while I was soaking her this morning I noticed her legs
(which I do look at when I soak her feet they've looked normal up til now) that the one with bumblefoot is swollen. I don't see any wounds..someone sent me an article on how to wrap and splint legs and wings on birds and ducks but how do I know when I need to do this and what part I need to do it to? She still eats, bathes and tries to do normal duck things but she is in quarantine to keep the other ducks off her so she can sit and heal.
