I was just looking at my chicken's feet, and was wondering if this looks like leg mites? If it is leg mites, what treatment is suggested? Thank you!

Yes I would say it’s the start. I bough a cheap rough toothbrush, some warm soapy water and scrubbed scrubbed away at their legs. You can buy some scaly leg mite spray (can’t remember specifically which I used but any will do, and then smothered their legs in vasaline to suffocate the mites. Worked well I did this twice a week for a few weeks, stopped for 2 weeks then did another 2 treatments and was gone. I did treat my shed too. I completely emptied all bedding material, used a blow torch to lightly burn the perches and any cracks encase any mites are hiding (mainly nesting areas and perches) sprayed with diluted jays fluid and any small crack again filled with Vaseline, didn’t use any Material in my shed over summer (less places for them to hide) just clean muck straight away and disinfected regularly with jays fluid. Also depending what you use in best box might have to change for a while, I used to use straw so wasn’t ideal so swapped for shredded paper until winter. Hope this helps :) but it’s really not that bad so might work with just some treatment spray, I had to go all out because I had red mite too, I ended up having to burn down two sheds 😭

Thank you for all the information! Were you able to see the mites in the coop?
