I didn't use Ivermectin on my birds, I just used Vaseline petroleum jelly, which suffocates them. Any thick grease will do. Slather them up real good, do the whole flock, and do them again 5 to 7 days later to kill the eggs that hatch. If the scales are really lifted, realize that they aren't going to look normal right away. The old scales have to shed to reveal the healthy scales underneath. I do them at night when they are on the roost and don't see well, it's easier than running them down during the day. We put a leg band on each bird we treat the first time, then take it off when we treat the second time.

To answer your question = Ivermectin is dosed by weight. Dosing information for both Ivermectin Injectable and Pour On is found in the post below.

It's always a good idea to still apply some Vaseline, oil, ointment or NuStock cream to the legs, if possible, even when you use Ivermectin. The oils/ointment/cream can help soothe the legs and promote healing. If there's a lot of scaly/cakey debris on the legs (mite poop is what that is), then these will also help soften the material up and it will eventually slough off more easily.

The dose is not drops. Birds should be weighed or at least have their weights guessed and the proper amount should be given. I have bolded the amount I use.

There are two types, one is injectable, the other is a pour on. The doses are different.

The max dose for 1% Ivermectin is 1 mg/kg which is 0.045 ml per pound. This can be given orally, by injection, or topically.
A five pound hen would get 0.23 ml.

The minimum effective dose for 1% Ivermectin is 0.2 mg/kg which is 0.009 ml per pound. This can be given orally, by injection, or topically.
A five pound hen would get 0.045 ml

The max dose for Pour On Ivermectin is 1 mg/kg which is 0.09 ml per pound. This is given topically only.​

A five pound hen would get 0.45 ml.

The minimum effective dose for Pour On Ivermectin is 0.5 mg/kg, which is 0.045 ml per pound. This is given topically only.
A five pound hen would get 0.23 ml
