Leghorn Contest - Contest Ended - Prize for 1st winner - 5 winners

@SueT there's a contest on here asking for pics for next year's BYC calendar. I think you should enter this pic. (That is if you haven't already.)
Thanks for reminding me about it. But this pic is not calendar quality. Her face is shaded, so the eye isn't sharp enuf for that. I'll get a better photo to enter.

He loves chicks and believe if given the choice he would give up his hens to spend the day looking after youngsters.

Oh so lovely! Did you show any of your Buffs at the state fair last year? I saw some there and wished I could get some.....

This is Blondie, a 1 yr. old brown leghorn hen.
She has a straight comb and is standard size.
I think this is considered light brown.
I have 3 of them almost identical, but I can tell Blondie apart because her comb flops to the right, and the others have combs that flop to the left...
My leghorns are the calmest laid back of all my chickens. No grudges, no bullying, polite to newcomers.....

She is a beautiful bird.
I was gifted a White Leghorn from Meyer Hatchery when I ordered chicks and she just isn’t the friendly, I-want-to-be-up-in-your-lap kind of bird. She’s never been one to cause or participate in any kind of drama though.

He is striking. Up until I saw your thread on all your Leghorns the other day, I wasn’t aware there were so many colors of Leghorns. I love all the different colored feathers with that white ear lobe. I just haven’t seen that many before.

no I haven't shown any of mine in quite a while but there is a young gentleman around that shows some from me. I believe he still has some of my blacks also.
I can't say for sure he was there last year but it is likely he was.
I'll be there this year but just to spectate.

Most people aren't aware they come in anything besides whites and browns. I'm trying to change that and not only show the other approved colors but to create new ones to show what can be done with selective breeding when you have 5 or 6 different colors to work with.
