Hello friends. I own a five year old leghorn hen, that isn't feeling so well. A few days after I had clipped her wing she has been acting lethargic. I don't see her eat or drink and I have offered her food and water many times. Her comb is pretty pale and droopy and I'm not sure what is wrong with her, please help.

Have you clipped her wings before...and she was OK with it?
Might not have anything to do with the clipping.
Is it hot where you are?
ANy other birds acting off @crazychicken-chickk

@aart This was my first time clipping her wings, she seemed fine with it at first then she started acting lethargic. The temperature here is usually above 80 degrees in the summer. I have been giving them lots of fresh water and frozen treats. The rest of the flock is acting normal.

Do her poops look normal?

Just an update on the hen, she isn't laying and still will not eat or drink. I don't know what going on, any ideas?

When I have a bird that is acting 'off' I isolate bird in a wire cage within the coop for a day or two....so I can closely monitor their intake of food and water, crop function(checking at night and in morning before providing more feed), and their poops. Feel their abdomen, from below vent to between legs, for squishy or hard swelling. Check for external parasites or any other abnormalities.

Best to put crate right in coop or run so bird is still 'with' the flock.
I like to use a fold-able wire dog crate (24"L x 18"W x 21"H) with smaller mesh(1x2) on bottom of crate under tray.
Then you can put tray underneath crate to better observe droppings without it being stepped in. If smaller mesh is carefully installed, tray can still be used inside crate.

Get some electrolytes into her.
I give a dose of Sav-a-Chick electrolytes/vitamins about once a week during heat waves.
It really seems to help....started this after they saved a heat stroked hen once.
Can mix up a smaller amount, just wrap the packet tight and store in a dry cool place.
Always have plain water available too.

I use a Qtip soaked in Sav-a-Chik solution held against the side of her beak, had to rub under her beak and the front of her neck to get her to swallow at first.
Or you could syringe, very careful , like this:

She is still acting sad, but she is now eating and drinking. I don't see her eggs in the nesting box anymore and her abdomen feels a little squishy to the right, could she be egg bound?
