Ruthie is one of 6 hens in my flock and the only Leghorn. The others (RIR, BO, SLW and Sapphire Blue) are all laying. She is on the bottom of the pecking order but she is getting sufficient food and water. I know they all will lay when they are ready but don’t know if there is something wrong with her. Any thoughts?

I have six brown Leghorn pullets, 22 weeks old. I usually find one white egg/day, sometimes none. The fact that my 12 RIR pullets are producing 10-11 eggs/day makes it hard to have patience with the Leghorns.
Is your Leghorn a single comb or rose comb? Mine (single comb) all have large combs and waddles.

Ruthie, my only Brown Leghorn, is almost 25 weeks old and has just the start of what I assume will be a single comb. She has no sign of waddles starting to appear yet that I can see. She is quiet and shy. Ruthie is taking her own sweet time but since I get 4/5 eggs each day from my other 5 pulleys, I can wait. I’ll know when she lays her first egg as all the others in my flock are brown egg layers. I’ll be excited to see my first white egg! I took this photo today to track her progress.

A white egg really stands out in a basket of brown eggs!
I've been getting a few white eggs for a while now, but it's still not very consistent. Should I be concerned?
Brown layers: RIR (12), White Rock (3)
White layers: Brown Leghorn (6), Mottled Houdan (1)
Blue layers: Whiting True Blue (4)

How old are these birds?
Do you free range?
Would love to see pics of your WTB eggs.

I have 2 - 55 Flowery Hens (autosexing leghorns, basically) that are 24 weeks old. My gold one (who got terribly sick and I though she was a goner) has been laying now for a couple weeks. Cute little pullet eggs, almost every day. However, my silver one (whose comb developed much sooner) not a single egg yet. Just like people, some just mature sooner.
How's Ruthie? Laying yet? 20190723_063310.jpg laying 20190723_063450.jpg not laying

I have 6 starter pullets that are at about 24 weeks now and only 1 of my 6 hens is laying eggs. Everything I have read online says some just take longer than others, but I'm starting to worry about these hens. I'm not sure about your hens, as we only have light brahmas and barred rock, but I would imagine yours is just taking a long time to mature much like our 5 hens.

I hope this helps...

Best,
James
