Leghorn Thread

I hope my girls are Leghorns. I'll just have to wait and see. Some of my young White Leghorn pullets have just started to lay. They are the first of my breeds from this past springs hatch. My hopefully Brown Leghorns are a couple of months younger so I expect they will start to lay in around a couple of months.
 
One of my old white leghorns is starting to look peaked ... When she goes I will only have one old lady left. Kind of sad.

I was hoping to have chicks from them in the spring. I hatched out a mail order egg this last spring... Lovely looking dark brown rose comb cockerel that I was planning on putting over those old ladies next spring.

sorry to hear that!! I am going to hatch some leghorn mixes here is the rooster I plant o breed them with he was from TSC and the hen we got with him is a egg laying machine so thats why we plan on breeding them i think he is a second geration red sexlink b/c he was bought as a RSL

The chicks will be a surprise. You never know what colors you'll get.
