Today my Sussex hen went in with the leghorns she deserted her little chickens and left them go to their coop alone tonight she I tired of tem I guess .
so will see tomorrow how this comes out .

I bought myself some 8 wk old Dutch Brown Leghorns this year. They are 8 months old now, are not molting, and have not laid eggs yet. Is this common for this breed?

It would be helpful if you could post photos of the birds - that way we can see what signs of maturity they are showing, etc.

It is fall and some chickens slow down in the fall-molting or not. They may no start until the spring

I am thinking about ordering some Leghorns to breed with my extra Ancona rooster. From what I have read they are almost the same breed.I don't want all whites, how many different colors do they have? Thanks for listening.

Now hatcheries usually only carry white and light brown leghorns. And multiple ones I listed are project colors

there are also black leghorns, and pyle, and exchequer which are black with white spots

Where can I find those colors, I would like to have two pullets of each for "Loudmouth" maybe he would have too much to do than crow all day long. I feel sorry for him because his brother "Jock" will not share his hens.
