It is fun... Because sometimes there are other things hiding under the white.....you don't know until you breed them.

Also, brown is pretty recessive, so anything hiding in the white will pop out.

I had the same with mixing a white Wyandotte male with Rose Comb Rhode Island White females and the female chicks from that breeding put with a Rhode Island Red, I got Black Sex-Links, especially the females. They looked like any Black Sex-Link female should look like. I was surprised. I was trying to get Rose Comb Red Sex-Links which I did from the RC RIW females and RC RIR male but I forgot about my Wyandotte/RIW mix, so now I know there is black in the Wyandotte.

Luckily if you look at Facebook animal pages, Craig's list, or even your local animal shelter, you should be able to find a nice one.

Often roosters can be had for free.

I did find one but his head was really fat and to me he didn't look right to me and I didn't want to put him in with my girls. His comb was twice the size of my boys. This is Ivon the boy I lost recently.
