Leghorn x White Jersey Giants

Oh, I think you have to make so many posts (10), I think, to be able to post pictures.

Wow! they are so beautiful!!
I would try that sometime! I have 16 black jersey giants, 5 leghorn, 5 light brahma, 6 ameraucana, 1 barred rock, 1 silver laced wyadotte, 3 silkies and 2 golden comets.
I WONT let my jersey giant rooster breed my silkies. Because i dont her to get squished by him.
I only would let him breed my barred rock, leghorn, ameraucana, and silver laced wyadotte. I'd love to have chicks from giants and leghorns.

I know this is an old thread but I hope someone is still following this???? I have a chick that hatched yesterday and it came from a barnyard mix. I know there were NJ Giants, leghorns, EE, OE, barred rock, SLW, RSL and Marans. What a mess! I'm trying to ID the chick and I have one that is just not like the others!!! When I saw this thread I thought this might just be what she is! Here is her pic. let me know what you think, notice the 2 black dots on her back. Thanks

My guess would be that it is a Leghorn crossed with something (could be about any breed). Leghorn crossed with any other color usually results in the black spots.

Ok the roo must have been the leghorn and the mom was a light brown egg layer. Thanks

This is a very interesting thread to read! I had been wondering what would happen if you crossed a large breed with a small but faster maturing breed like Leghorns. It would be cool to come up with a large bird that didn't take as long as the Giants to mature and fill out to eating size. Maybe there's already a breed out there that does that, but I have fun thinking about combinations anyway. :P
