My white leghorns are about 20 weeks. They are not laying yet. I have noticed that in the last week they have started to change color. They are going from snow white to a light tan in some area of their body such as the nap of the neck and sides of body. Is this normal or are they some kind of mix?

I have Light Brahmas in my birdiehood. I have never seen Light Brahmas in person before having mine. I keep reading that chickens crops and wattles turn redder or darker when they are ready to start laying. My Brahmas are 20 weeks old. No layers yet, but I suspect soon. Their crops and wattles are light pink. Not even close to red. Does this breed even get a redder crop and wattle?

White roos get a yellow neck with age.
