Leghorns

Here are some of mine.

One roo is pure and the other (smaller comb) is a mix with a RIR. Some of the hens are the same.

Here's a younger picture of the mixed roo and one of the mixed hens.

Well im a vergin to the chicken world and wanted to have some chickens, to lay some eggs. my friend and i have been talking about it so long, that one day i just started building a coop. What i was going to put in the coop i didnt know. So i started to do some research on chickens, and what got my attention was white leghorn chickens. They lay big beautiful white eggs and alot of them and are smart birds to have. My friend on the other hand didnt care about what color the eggs were but wanted big eggs and a good quantity. So we started the hunt to find white leghorns in my area and we could not find nothing, but the brown egg layers. Now there is nothing wrong with brown egg layers, but if thats all you find around you in one county, then you gotta be different, right..So after all sorts of research and careful planning i went with 4 white leghorn chicks and he went with 4 golden sex link chicks. We shipped them in over night from the state of Texas and set them up under a brooder and have been carefully watching them and taken care of them. The second night i was sad because i had lost one of my leghorn chicks, The others soon got me over the lost chick, by the way they are so funny and interesting to watch. It has been 8 days now and all chicks are doing great and are 7 days old. I will soon post some pics of them and show you how funny they look as they go through there changes of fuzzy to fuzz and feathers.
