Legislation to improve lives of egg laying hens

What about Greece and Spain, don't believe they were mentioned. In any case they are both members of the Euro. UK is a soveriegn nation with it's own monetary system.

How does gambling fit in Native American culture? I find no history of such practice and the Indians I know like the money but say it goes as against their beliefs.

Well, I am glad for the opprtunity to educate you on the subject of gambling and native americans. Gambling has been a part of many Native American tribes culture since way before european conquest. It was a form of entertainment, competition, socialization and often a way of settling disputes. As for the indians that you know that say it goes against thier values, just being native american does not make them experts on all things native american, nor spokesman for all other native americans, and sadly many native peoples have been the victims of assimilation practices made to obliterate the cultural traditions and oral histories of these people. Your friends may be unaware of the history of gambling and gaming in Native America, or they may be converts to some form of christianity or some other religion that is against gambling. This is also all I am going to say about this because I don't want to hijack the thread. LOL

Pretty much every culture has gambling games in some form, going back thousands of years. Chickened's post seemed to be about casinos, which are huge, commercial money-making complexes that I am pretty sure were not part of pre-Euro Native-American culture.

There is a BIG difference between gambling for fun and sport, and gambling as a multi-billion-dollar industry. I doubt very much that hunter-gatherer tribes even had the concept of money, and any games of chance they had were among kin and friends, and at most involved who got the leftover deer haunch.

Yeah, nuttin' like Foxwoods.. or Mohican Sun... :gig

What the UK is to the EU is like what Mexico or Canada is to the U.S. economy a parasitic nation to a larger host nation and thier credit rating is irrelevant. The EU goes down the UK will follow suit. IMO

It would seem that the Native Americans have struck a deal with the devil with regards to Casinos
