have to agree ...the lighting does the same......bet very few use the with holding feed way.....because can be done with light without the lost of hens.


Much more good........ would come from a video of how the birds are house at the store egg section....cage and cage free, and free range.

same with the meat section...those house in feedlots or free range , or grow out barns.


i'm talking true to the video.....

bet alot more people would pay the $3 per dozen than $1 per dozen ,if they saw how each type was housed.

You would clear cut the Tillamook forest if you thought you could get away with it. It's really sad that things like the environment and animal welfare have to be made political subjects by old men afraid of the government.

Are you saying they don't do it, or most don't do it? Because the farm you mentioned labels itself as a producer of "farm-fresh organic, cage-free eggs."

And on their own website, they are advocates of new federal humane laws regarding chickens which you seem to be against. In other words, thank you for providing the name of such a concerned egg producer, with a long family-farm history, that agrees with changing the ways chickens are allowed to be kept.

Read the article I posted from the Capital Press they put that stuff in their web page because there is new legislation being pushed by an ex failed veterinarian by the name of Kurt Schrader. I know the guy when he was a vet and he was a quack, probably why he chose politics. They are for new laws just not the ones that are proposed. They want laws to be applied globally not just to one state which would put them at a disadvantage to competitors. Humane is relative to many factors so I do not really take a position on that it would be speculation or emotionally based and I steer clear of that for many reasons usually. I am sure they do it but just a guess here on my part but the house the organic birds differently at the minimum to sell organic certified eggs. I will ask the person I know about that next time I see him though. You have to remember western oregon has a larger organic crowd here and I bet they do not even by those eggs with all the small farms. I sell birds all the time to organic and non organic small scale egg farmers, that is why they are so cheap here.
