I know there are a tooooon of different varieties, but I meant how many patterns are there? Cause BBRed, Golden Duckwing, and Silver Duckwing are all different varieties, but they are all of the Duckwing pattern. And then you can mix and match some other fun genes to make some weird things. Like Partridge is a Duckwing pattern, but the females are penciled. Yes? No? Am I totally off? lol

It depend upon what one is referring to when one says "patterns". Basically I think you've got the right idea but they aren't called feather patterns , I think, you are referring to the e-alleles which basically show how the colours are "zoned".

Columbian is a restrictor of black & only shows on some of the e-alleles. There are other black restricting genes, secondary pattern genes, dilution genes etc. etc. but they all work on the various e-alleles ("zone" type genes).

Have a look at this it explans all.

Yes, all of those duckwing types are of the e+ allele. You can add other dilution genes or secondary pattern genes & get different effects.

The term 'partridge' can mean different things in different breeds.
