Need help I have a 125 watt bulb &250 for heat lamp I have 2 week old chicks.they move around the same.any suggestions?

Need help I have a 125 watt bulb &250 for heat lamp I have 2 week old chicks.they move around the same.any suggestions?

How many chicks?? For 5 to 10 chicks I use a 60 watt, dropped down inside the brooder and adjusted till the floor temp is around 85 degree's for 2 week old chicks. Them big lights are Not needed. Think of a broody hen---only heats the small area under her. Let your light be on one end only leaving the food and water on the other end. Chicks do better that way than the whole brooder heated---that is not good.

Sorry that I do not have any brooder experience, just hatches under a broody hen so I will just wish you all the best.
