I can absolutely attest that there’s a lot of lesbian love that occurs at my house with my two Pekin ducks. As you wonderfully stated, I support their love life and will never step in the way of true love. That said... I’ve been a little bit of a lovins’-interceptor of late. It’s only one particular Pekin who mounts everyone (back when I had three) and I would be sitting here in my house contemplating the meaning of life (or whether I want Ramen noodles or macaroni and cheese... you know, important stuff) and I would hear a little ducky Yelp. And so I look out there and sure enough... Patty is on top of someone and the recipient is making this little sound that, to me, is so dang pitiful. So my daughter and I always come and ruin the intimate foray and break up the lovins.
She’s never plucked feathers or marred a face or anything but about 1-2 weeks ago, the non-Patty-non-sexual-predator duck OG (pronounced oooohhhhhjjj but it’s weird so whatever) had a lame leg. They have a temporary home in my screened in back porch so everything is flat, no obstacles or anything to have injured herself. So I blamed Patty as the perpetrator (she’s bigger than OG) and so now I’m especially on high alert for the cries of sexual victimization.
I mean... at least let her heal her leg before you do it again! Yeeeesh.
I will say, I’ve also seen OG do her whole ‘presenting it’ thing to Patty as well. So maybe ducks are just easy/floosies and I’m misinterpreting the sounds... it’s not victimization, it’s the coo’s and wooooo’s of intimacy.
Either way, it’s just amazing how much these guys are in the mood. Maybe it’s duck mating season now? I have no idea when that season is but Patty is making that season last all year long
(cue song “all night long”... LOL)
I doubt you have a drake (though anything can happen) I just suspect you have amorous ducks
