Less calcium

Hi
My hen is laying soft shell egg. When i feed her egg shell by mixing in food then she dont eat food. When i offer shell as a free choice then she cant eat it because she is a farm grown layer whose beak point is grinded. What to do now?

Soft shelled eggs have nothing to do with calcium intake. The eggs come out before the shell is applied usually due to stress, or a glitch in the system. They are commonly seen as hens start back up or stop laying.

Oyster shells should always be offered free choice, they will consume them as necessary.

How old is she? Being debeaked should not prevent her from eating oyster shell. I would add some multi vits to her feed or water and see if that helps. The fact that she is a debeaked hen from a factory farm indicates that she is most likely a spent layer, and her laying days are over. She may or may not continue to lay for a cycle, or she may succumb to internal laying issues.

She is a spent layer but she lays egg. Her age is nearly 35 months. She dont have internal laying issue she lays a soft shell egg not rubber egg
