Less Garage and More Coop (pic heavy)

Wow! This is amazing. I'm in the process of building my own duck/chicken run and this has given me some pretty good ideas. Looks great! Keep postin' pictures! :D

That is looking fantastic and so well-done! Looking forward to progress.

This is the progress on the inside thus far. 3 coops with four more yet to go !

I have few babies in here they love all the room to run around. Lots of room for a good game of chicken keep-away when the occasional moth finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong.

This is one of the pulleys and rope I use for the door leading out to the runs behind the garage.

Here I just have a simple wooden handle and hook this holds the door open.

Here is one of the doors in the open position it simply rides in two tracks, the tracks are actually metal shelving tracks used for shelving brackets. The plywood doors slide up and down in these real well.

I think you may be an engineering genius! Love your designs.

I also live in Middle Tennessee and something (a weasel, I think) just got my entire flock after 10 years of zero problems. So here's my question - it appears the weasel dug in. Are you building any safeguards against tunneling in your outdoor runs? If so, what? I may end up having to completely rebuild and you seem to be the go-to guy for great ideas!

Nice idea to use the space you have.

Two suggestions or questions.
Is the coop and run tall enough to get around?
You may or will have to go in there and chase sick or injured birds.

Are you prepared for the dust?
Bird dander and dust from the bedding is very light and will get everywhere.

The dust, that's what I was thinking. After having the brooder in the basement of my house, then seeing how much dust they generate in the coop. No way would I want them in my garage. Unless the chicken room is sealed off with a solid wall from the rest of the building.
