Here's the story:
Ever since my hen started laying, she's become more outgoing. I can pet and sometimes hold her now. Usually my barred rock accompanies me while I feed everyone and let them out, and she eats from my hand as I walk, then we sit together for a while on the swing outside.
So this morning I decide to let Cloud my EE ride on my shoulder because she was being so good.
She scratched my shoulder up a bit, but I'm used to that by now, then she started sliding off backwards. I bent over so she wouldn't fall untill I grabbed her, because once she runs away she's impossible to catch. Well she saw my hand coming toward her and decided to fly from me. She left 2 6-inch gouges on my back that actually drew blood. Then I had to run around the woods for a while trying to catch her. At least I didn't get poison ivy. It wasn't so easy to clean my back though.
Moral of the story: I should've let her fall.
