I was out in the run this afternoon giving the chicks their treats for the day and I sat down to watch them (like I do everyday) only today I noticed, after they finished their treat, one chick would walk up to another and stand very still while the other one cleaned its beak and feathers around the face off using its own beak. It's hard to explain but it would be like a mom wiping her child's face off with her thumb after a meal. The chick doing the grooming had that expression and body language that said, "Hey, let me get that for you". And the other chick seemed thankful. I noticed this happened with several pairings of chicks throughout the run. I'm new to chicks, so this may happen all the time but it's new to me :-) Just wanted to share something new to me today... please share anything cute/new you noticed your chicks/chickens do today

I have seen my hens sometimes clean food off of each other and the rooster. The rooster, Edgar, an EE, sometimes gently cleans specks if dirt off my hands or pant legs. He is very sweet about it but my black rubber boots are another matter. Amazing how hard he can peck the boots when he decides to!
