I go by momma duck 22, but my real name is Karla Mendoza. I live in a very small town in Kansas. It is so small that all we have is gravel and dirt roads. a church, a grade school and a very small post office. We have a very small population of about 500 people, several goats, a couple of horses, and a few chickens. I love animals, I have three rescue dogs, two cats, two rabbits, a 36 year old green checked Amazon parrot (we have had her since she was 5 months old). I also have a love bird, and a cockatiel, last but not least I have inherited a rat. Now about my new venture, my sweet chickens. I have some young, younger and very young chickens. I have a barred rock hen, two Rhode Island Reds, two crested cream legbars, two black sex link hens, 5 americanas too young to know their sex, 3 lavender orpingtons, 5 black copper Marans, these are all too young also I don't know their sex yet. I am so very glad to find this site, I have so many questions, I am new at raising chickens. I have only been doing it since the first of march.

Glad you joined us! Your village sounds much like the one I live in, except we have three pubs as well and lots of horses and very few goats.
