My name is Marcile, I'm a retired midwife, mother of 7, Grandmother to 19. I have had chickens since I was a small child living next door to my Great Grandparents farm. My Great grandfather grew and sold fruit and vegetables at the Seattle Farmers Market.
I am raising two of my granddaughters' and My husband and I got Faverolle chicks for the girls three years ago. Our flock has grown and they now have added two Buffs and 4 Golden-lace Wyandottes. I got the chickens as they are, I love chickens! they provide great entertainment, The education they provide young children is a lifelong skill in caring for the littles. We also grow and sell microgreens to other local owners of small flocks that don't have grass to wander on. We grow wheatgrass, barley grass and sweet peas. It is a very special treat for the (apartment dwelling chicks) named by my grand daughter because her friend lives in an apartment and doesn't have grass to play in.
