Let me see your duck yards/runs

I have 2 pekins that we think are brothers, raised together forever. They faught so bad we had to seperate them last year.
I have 2 runners that were raised together, so far this year I gave seperated them into pairs and they're fine. They were all together yesterday and blood was drawn!

You're going to get different results from different individual birds. No way to really tell what will happen.

Maybe a Muscovy pair or trio would go good in that run. I know they are good if noise is a concern.
Well I was going to order some to be shipped as our feed store doesn't get them but my brother doesn't like Muscovy ducks. He only loves Pekin and Runners.

Your ducks will need at least as much protection from predators as your chickens, possibly more, since they have little, if any ability to fly and they don't roost off the ground. They do need protection from airborn predators, as well, so you may need to cover the run they are in, at least with some kind of netting to prevent entry by raptors. Their night housing has to be secure from any potential predators in your area.

Ducks need a water source that allows them to dunk their heads at least up to their nostrils, so a nipple watering system or other controlled watering system will probably not work well for them. They do not HAVE to have swimming water, but they like it. A kiddie pool is adequate. Ducks are messy and generate mud, but unlike chickens, their poo is not "hot" and can go straight into garden soil without composting first.

I already planned on putting netting over once I got them.

Here is mine. Electric netting

Ok, I've got 2 pens and can separate my 2 runs if I want to. One run goes behind those cypress trees and I've got that closed off right now most of the way because I'm trying to get the grass to start growing back there. It's been a wet muddy winter!

I've had some predator issues and after my debacle, with the falcon killing my drake in the one part of the run that wasn't covered now both runs are netted on top. It's not pretty and looks like redneck haven but it is what it is and hopefully, it's safer. It is in the back of our property and nobody but the deer, coyotes etc. see it.
