Let the Orpington projects begin! (Pics!)

Can't wait to see what you get!

My blue Jersey roo got into the pen with my BLR, but since the girls have gone into molt and aren't laying now, I don't know what kind of interesting crosses I could have gotten.

How long does it take them to get to that weight Cyn? I've just been wondering when they top out because he never shows any signs of slowing down yet.

Buster I will be watching to see what this combination brings. I am not sure what you are hoping for but sure hope ya get it. Thanks for sharing

Jared, when we butchered Curly (

) He weighed in at 10lbs and he wasn't even 20 weeks old. I can't imagine how big he would have been at full growth. But he had messed up feet

And he was getting mean.

Wow! Diesel's weight isn't really specific. We just weighed him by holding him while standing on a bathroom scale. I can't believe how big these Black Orps get!

Just came in from putting the Splash Orp cockerel and the black orp pullet in the chicken tractor together. Geronimo lived true to his name again.

Wish me lots of luck and blue orp egg vibes for them and jubilee and white vibes for the others!

Jubliee Orps? I must be living under a rock or something. Does anyone have a picture they'd like to share (obviously, I could Google it, but I rather see a BYCer's birds anytime...).

They have Jubilee Orpingtons in the UK, but not currently in the US. However I do know that there are some people diligently working on them. I do not know of any BYCer who has them and I believe they are even rare in the UK. I could not find any pics on the feathersite to show you an example. MissPrissy has a very interesting thread on them and it is where I got my inspiration to start investigating how to breed them. It has some illustrations of how they are supposed to look: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=29386
