On my way out this morning, I saw a car flipped upside down in the ditch. On the way back....when the wrecker flipped it right side up, it started rolling and 6 people were chasing it and finally got it stopped right before it hit another car

I was browsing this site at my work desk at lunch today and I almost missed a 1:00 meeting I had set up. Looks like I missed a hot time in the old town last night!

Did you laugh and think of me?

Yep, I nearly wrecked trying to see the driver as I passed! I doubt if you have a beard, well, maybe if you aren't real...

...never mind, I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

And it was "small town cops". If it had been lighter, I would have slowed down and taken a picture on my phone to share!

Well someone had to do it (hijack our thread). It's not like we didn't give others plenty of opportunity....

So, I have a dehydrator with no instructions that someone gave me and I have yet to try and figure it out. I was going to experiment with apple chips because someone just gave me a ton of apples. But you do tomatoes, onions, etc for cooking?? Do they rehydrate in the cooked food or stay hard? Stupid question maybe, but I've never done it. Do they keep their same nutritional value when dried? I would love to dry a bunch of food but haven't tried yet.

Yeah, I don't remember who it was now who posted this, but someone came on toward the end to defend me I THINK, and said "She might not be real but we like her stories..." something to that effect. It was like a back handed compliment, lol. I was like, UM, thanks. But I am real, really I am! I still maintain that if I were to make stuff up it would be really COOL stories, not lame stuff like my trash guy and getting pulled over by a cop.

PS: And no, I don't have a beard.

They will rehydrate when cooking in high moisture foods. Example: I wouldn't put dried onion in dressing...may not rehydrate quite enough, but in soup...YES. The dehydration only takes out the water content, so the nutritional value is WAYYY closer to fresh than canning by heat where some of the nutrients are lost, so yeah, it's better! Dehydrators are SOOO easy! Oh and I did apples too

I forgot about those! You can make fruit leathers...AKA fruit roll-up type snacks with a dehydrator. I did that with fresh homemade cinnamon apple sauce and I got 1 tiny piece...those ravenous children devoured the rest in 20 minutes!

Remind me to get a dog next time

Oh, and the tomato...taste like sundried, and is GREAT on pizza, in salad, etc. I like them just to snack on, but I'm weird

Dried foods fit WAY better in the pantry too! 12 pounds of tomatoes...dried and are in 3 pint jars
