I don't know if it's true Mexican food, but as an experiment, I grew some Thai chili peppers this year, and ground up a handful in a batch of salsa. Best salsa I've ever made!

I was tired of chunk salsa, so I pureed everything. It had the most unique taste profile - you didn't taste the Thai chili until after you swallowed, almost an aftertaste thing. Of course that was an afternoon of just throwing things into the pot, so I have no idea what the recipe would look like....

Soup I'm eating at the moment... chicken in a pot, throw in some stuff if you want... onion, garlic, carrot, celery this time around... cook until the bird is done then debone the bugger, bring to boil throw in pasta (or potatoes that was the original plan), done add some velveeta... tadaa Chicken Cheese Soup.

Ironic because it used to drive me NUTS that Ol' Granny and Memaw couldn't write down exactly how to make their dishes.

I rarely follow recipes either when making something like salsa. I got some jalapenos, and serrano peppers today to make some next week though...can. not. wait. !

My parents always had a plaque on the wall that said "No drinking before 5:00pm!" and it had a clock on it with all 5's.
